A friend of mine, Buck, is the owner of Rosie, a Wirehaired Pointing Griffon. Rosie and Dougal have pretty much grown up together, best friends. Buck decided to breed Rosie a single time with another registered Griffon and have a single litter before having her fixed. Well, she delivered 11 puppies by c-section Friday afternoon. Good thing as it was found none of the puppies would have been able to pass naturally. We were worried about the runt of the litter but looks like the little guy is doing fine now. The litter was a 6/5 split male taking the lead.
We (the wife) have been offered a puppy from the litter. We are talking about it. As I told her, that is going to be her decision. But, as she has names picked out I do believe I understand where she is leaning. But this got me thinking about the breed, I really don't know anything except that they are a really rare breed here in the US.
Here is what I am seeing about the Wirehaired Pointing Griffon
