Welcome to December! My In-laws are hosting their granddaughter and her family this week, so of course, we get to enjoy the festivities. Friday night we headed to Cottom Farm's Christmas Village to see the lights and for the young ones to visit Santa.
This is the second time visiting the Christmas Village since moving here to Florida. I would strongly suggest a visit if you are down their way during the season. Set on a huge farm that has been beautifully decorated for the season, it is so worth the $10.00 admission. Goodies like fudge and hot chocolate can be found around the area, but sadly no snow, but that is something that does not happen around here. I think the whole event is put together and run by the family that owns the farm, they are so nice. My father-in-law who uses a motorized chair to get around was able to enjoy the hey ride as the workers there helped us get the chair onto the trailer as he sat on a hay bail. So very nice and thoughtful, hard to find nowadays!
We found Mr. and Mrs. Clause sitting comfortably in the great room of a simply gorgeous house that had been decorated to the hilt. I have to admit I found myself missing my Christmases Past looking through some of the old toys laying under and in the tree. Our great niece, who is only 3, was very nervous about meeting the bearded elf but with the help of my wonderful wife was able to overcome her anxiety and found herself really enjoying her visit.
