Keeping your dog active is sometimes a challenge especially if you have a high-energy dog like we do. Even though we have a very active schedule that allows Dougal to go outside work and play there are times when it is simply not enough. Our rainy season here in Florida is one of those times we find we can be housebound. While not a problem for me Dougal can go a little crazy as he really has had no energy release. We do train inside and that helps a little but has never been a really satisfactory fix.
So, what do we do? Exercise his brain! Doing things like playing the "shell game" where we hide a treat under a cup, mix them around and have him find them. Hide a favorite toy and play hide and seek. Anything that will stimulate his brain. Well, I would a new toy 3 or 4 games in one that I can simply set and forget. Best of all Dougal loves it! Nice heavy bottom so it does not slide easily across our wood floors.
