We went to pick one of our sons up from the airport, he came down to visit! 
As always we head to somewhere they want to eat once we pick them up. This evening it was Outback in Sanford Florida.
When I walked to the desk the hostess looked at me and Dougal and then promptly asked me if we minded sitting toward the back of the restaurant or a corner booth. I think my wife noticed something was amiss and asked what was wrong. I was speechless for a few seconds, but found my voice and thankfully calm I told her " I would expect you to seat us as any other patron would be sat, we require nothing special". She apologized and sat us with other customers around. Wifey ask what was wrong and I told her what was said and I could see her bristling. But, I think she may have been asking simply to make sure we were comfortable.
The rest of the supper went very well. Most of the servers commented on how well Dougal did, but he does what he can so he can people-watch while tucked. And as we were leaving I heard the ultimate compliment from several tables "Oh wow, didn't even know there was a dog in here".
