This is a follow-up to my "Flustered with Reporting!" I was following this case while it was ongoing about a year ago, then I found that he, Joshua Rohrer, had filed a federal case about what had happened. Well as normal a lot of news articles hit and seemed to be omitting parts of the story to better grab readers' attention.
One of the articles I commented on was at Task & Purpose. I just wanted the readers to know "the rest of the story" to quote Paul Harvey. In my opinion, the story was being falsely reported. Some people agreed some did not. This was all a few weeks ago. Personally, I stopped paying attention, until this morning. While checking my email I noticed 2 new comments from someone named Joshua. Could it be? Needless to say, my curiosity was piqued! So, I wnt to take a gander..
Here is the first comment, I am including my prior comment that he was referring to.
There is a LOT of videos out there about this case. There is one with the original call that happened before the fiasco, but sadly I could not find it right off-hand but did find one that proved my point (at about the 9-second mark):
The original responding officer states that "I told him that he couldn't be on the median". This tells me that he was told to leave he did not (or returned) which prompted a second call and all this hit the fan.
The second comment he left was:
My response was kind of lengthy so I'll post it separately. First though, I love that he proved the point to what I was saying acknowledging that the dog was rehomed while Joshua was staying at the "do right", not what the story had accentuated that the dog was killed at the scene after it had been hit with a taser. But here is what I commented.
