Basic Forum Navigation

I sometimes forget that not everyone knows how to navigate forums, as they are now considered "old school" and with social media being the king of social interaction forums are not seen as much. While, currently there is very little interaction here, the forums are there for the users to interact quickly with other members.

To get to our forums, if you are reading this you have found them. 😁 Anyway, there are a few ways to get to the forums. Here at Service Dog Advocate, I have made sure that the top menu is always easily available. The user should only have to click on that:

. The small down arrow will open up the sub-selections that the user can click on to get to more specific areas within the forums area. Same is true for the different tabs located at the top (or left side) of the screen.

Also on most screen you will visit here you will see a sidebar. On this sidebar, there will be "widgets" with items from the forums (and other areas) that you can click on to directly link to them.

While in the forums you will see something like this:

Every section is topped by the overall subject. In the example above the main topic is about Support Animals. This is broken down in each one of the individual forums (nodes) that creates more specific subjects. All you need to do is click on the subject you would want to read or post to.

Selecting a node will take you to the individual conversations that are going on.

Clicking on one of those treads will allow you to read the conversation and/or add to it.
