Outside Article Service Dog Missing After Car Was Stolen From Cobb County Gas Station

"I just want to get her back. I don't care about anything else. Everything else can be replaced."

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Cobb County Police are searching for a dog that is missing after the vehicle it was in was stolen from a gas station on Chastain Road and I-75.

"Sydney was in the air conditioning, wind blowing through her hair. You know, I was only going to be in there two or three minutes, just getting a bottle of water and I've done it a thousand times before we've jumped on the highway," said Beau Jones.

But when Beau Jones walked out of the Swifty Save on Chastain Road in Cobb County on Thursday evening, his car and dog were gone.

"I open the door and I'm looking and where's my car and I see my car driving off and I'm screaming, 'Hey! Stop! What are you doing,'" said Jones.

Inside was his service dog, a golden doodle named Sydney.

"She's a miniature golden doodle. Apricot is what she's called. I just called her little blondie," said Jones.

"She's a little lover. She never meets a stranger," said Jones. "She serves a purpose, she's not just a pretty dog."

Cobb County Police responded and listed Jones' 2015 black Kia Forte as stolen and are actively searching for it and for Sydney. Jones wants the public to look out for her too.

His iPhone was in the car, but it appears whoever took the Kia ditched the phone along I-75.

Sydney does have a chip, so if she's brought to a shelter she can be reunited with Jones.

"I just want to get her back. I don't care about anything else. Everything else can be replaced," said Jones.

Sydney's chip ID is 985112008303391. If someone thinks they see her or Jones' Kia, they can contact police.
