So much has been going on the last 2 months here.
We had a major update to our forum software which always brings so many changes. As a one-person-crew I think we have handled the changeover pretty well. Most of our add-ons were pretty fast at pumping out compatible updates though we still have a few that are working through some problematic bugs and then several that I have had to either turn off (for the time being) or delete.
The most obvious problem we have had was our theme (or skin some people call it). Seems that the developer has poofed. Headed to greener pastures? I was left with either leaving it up and dealing with the (minor) errors it was causing or regroup and put up a new theme. Kind of obvious which way I headed. If the original developer updates the old theme I am sure I would head back to that one as I did really like it.
While all these updates were/are happening I also happened to notice that there has really been no visitors from searches from the major search engines. And this had been going on for about as long as we changed over hosts. Seems like between me and our host the little bots that the search engines send out to crawl all the internet had been blocked! It took about 2 weeks but all that has been straightened out and I am happy to report that the little bots are back and (re)indexing the site.
Just as a side note about the indexing, The site gets about 100 visits a day when I dodnt pop up links in the service dog groups I am in and about 200 when I do. Not much and as long as I know the site is here and it is (hopefully) helping someone I am good, but having it indexed and showing on google and bing will help more but it will also bring the trolls and scammers which I do worry about, but with some of our tools here and especially for an upcoming tool (Events) I do want it avalable for those not on facebook and other social media I am a part of.
