Another item we needed for our trip to Savannah as we knew we would be walking a lot. Perfect for clipping either on the dogs vest or on my dog bag over my shoulder.

Worth it!
Pros
  • sturdy
  • Easy setup
  • Not too heavy
Cons
  • little expensive
Love this item! We needed a kennel as we were going to a wedding and didn't wish to stir up drama, by taking dog with us.

Very easy to tote, as it came with a well made carry bag, and a breeze to setup and take down,

Favorite BBQ in SC
Pros
  • Great Food
  • True Southern Atmosphere
  • Great Staff
Cons
  • Crowded at times
One of my favorite places in South Carolina to get BBQ!

We took our family there after son's graduation and were delighted to be able to visit. No questions about having Dougal, my service dog there. He was just another family member.

Our trip
Pros
  • Gorgeous Area
  • Cool even on hot days
  • Decent Price
Cons
  • Hidden. Only found out about this venue though word of mouth
Looking for fun in Seneca SC? This place is about as hidden as you can get!
Wonderfully laid out putt-putt course that is kept cool by the running water and hidden fans throughout. The Koi and plants all appeared very well cared for.
As for Dougal, I was worried about the rather large "no pets" signage posted on the front door, but it was all for nothing. Nothing was said when we walked in vested.
I will be returning to this venue again, even if it is just to enjoy the area.

D&D Review
Pros
  • Lighthearted
  • True to Game
  • Awsome script
Cons
  • none
I started playing Dungeons & Dragons in the last portion of the 70's and in the late 80's while in the military, I really got into it. I have always enjoyed fantasy and science fiction movies no matter how bad they were. It was always escapism at its best.

My wife noticed that Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves was streaming on Paramount+ it gave us the perfect movie to sit down and watch. Either it was going to fit into our "bad movie night" where we could make fun of everything or we would find ourselves captivated. Normally there is very little in-between for us.

Most every time I have sat down to play D&D there is always goofiness or the players attempting to do things that are at the least questionable. This has always been the "fun part" of playing. The bad movie quotes run rampant and always get a laugh. I do not think I have ever made it through a session without hearing "tis but a flesh wound" during some combat session. It is things like that which really make up a D&D session for me. It is all about hanging out with friends and having a good time in a world that has been created by the game master, or dungeon master.

So, how did this movie rank? Let's just say I really hope they make another with the same writers and director. My opinion it was a smash pure and simple. The writer knew the material and presented in a way, not only for older D&D players would approve of, but they also presented it a way that could be enjoyed by the non-D&D watchers. There were several times throughout the movie where I would see a monster I had only read about in one of the monster compendiums and I would say something like "oh wow, an OwlBear" only for one of the characters to mention the name and my wife rolling her eyes with a big sigh. This is the same lady that typically refuses to watch Star Wars with me due to my in-movie commentary.

Not only did they nail the "forgotten realms" they kept the movie light-hearted by offering up things that made it feel as though human players behind the scene were adding their oneliners to the scene. There was at least one Monty Pythons snip provided and many other things like that throughout the whole movie.

This is one of the first movies that I have watched this year that was simply fun to watch.

Good Place!
Pros
  • Huge portions
  • Great Grits!
Cons
  • Service can be slow
We have visited several times. Huge portions and good food and the price is about right for the amount of food. Service can be a little slow from time to time.

Service dog, we have had 0 problems. Staff and patrons do have a tendency to greet and talk to the dog, but with the diner being so open and our dog likes to people watch he can be very obvious.

This diner is rated 4 Dougal Paws. 🤗

My 2023
Pros
  • The Music!
  • The Games!
  • Atmosphere
Cons
  • Lack of seating (eating)
If you like Scot/Irish music this is an Awesome event! Folk to contemporary music, all day long for two days. Make sure you carry your own chairs, this is a field event. Also, this is Florida, it gets hot, come prepared.

Highland Games. This was kind of lackluster for us. The competition field was very small but was fun watching the people compete. I really wish that this was a more focused event area, just seemed more of an afterthought to us.

Dogs! I am still trying to figure out what their animal policy was within the event. We saw a lot of dogs there, some not vested, some vested with ESA patches, and two or three vested like we were with service dog patches.

At an event like this, especially where vets are allowed free entrance I expect to see a few more service dogs in the area but this was statistically a huge number of "teams". We got snapped and barked at a few times, normally by the little foo-foo dogs, and even had a group that brought their puppies to play while their humans enjoyed the music.

Our One-Nighter
Pros
  • Comfortable Rooms
  • Clean
  • Great Staff
Cons
  • Price
We decided to do a whole weekend for the Celtic Music & Heritage Festival so booked one of the few rooms available in the area with Hampton. We had forgotten to take into account that this was the last week of Bike Week and the kick-off to Spring Break. This, I think explains the 400-dollar-a-night rooms.

Check-in was a breeze as we are Hilton members and the attendant was so nice. We always try to sign in physically since we travel with my service dog. We also book our rooms through Hilton as one of the fields asks specifically if you are bringing a service dog.

We also worry that our hotel will attempt to slip in a "pet charge" on our way out. So far with our experience with Hilton hotels, we have not had that problem. Our good luck has continued with this stay.

I would suggest this hotel to any other service dog teams.

Awesome Service
Pros
  • Great Staff
  • Top Notch Atmosphere
  • Awesome Location
Cons
  • Forced Gratuity
Was looking to find a nice "ritzy" type place to take my wife after a day at the Celtic Music & Heritage Festival and reserved us a table at the Raintree.

Great staff, awesome atmosphere! Really had a great time there. My service dog was accepted without hesitation, which is always a major worry. The food was good, though a little bland but that may have been due to the Haggis we had eaten earlier. :)

The only real gripe I had was the forced gratuity that is included on the bill (there were only 2 of us). I see this as undermining the normal use of leaving a tip for the server. I was more than willing to leave 30-35% tip to my server until I saw the forced gratuity..

Hard Chews
Pros
  • Relax
  • dog likes them
Cons
  • Price
There are times when I can not get Dougal out of the house to fully exercise. He is a Border Collie and has to have an outlet to burn off energy and we can not fill that while couped up inside.

We have found these chews work to relax Dougal till we can get him out so he can run. Highly suggest these for those specific times. Not for a simple everyday snack. The price would limit that in my opinion, as they run about 30 (US) dollars a bag.

Beef Bites
Pros
  • Easily broken for training treat size
  • Dog LOVES them
  • Do not have to worry about them drying out
Cons
  • Hard to find
I love the limited ingredients! The main ingredient is BEEF! Dog goes crazy for these things which makes training easier.

While each piece is large (IMO) it is very thin and easy to break up for training sessions.

Only reason 4 stars is that is it not an easy product to find.
