QUEENS, N.Y. (PIX11) – A rideshare driver is accused of threatening to kill a passenger after the rider reported him to the company, according to a complaint released by the Eastern District of New York.
Mark Bababekov allegedly tried to make repeated calls to the passenger and threatened to run him over, court documents show. The calls were made through the rideshare app and recorded.
"[Individual-1] ruined my life. I am going to ruin his life, I have no choice but to run him over," a court transcript said. "I will run him over, make him permanently disabled. His life is going to end."
According to the complaint, Bababekov is accused of canceling a ride with the passenger in 2022 because they had a dog. However, the passenger claimed the dog was a service animal, which most rideshare apps require drivers to serve.

The rider reported Bababekov to the rideshare app, which led to the driver's account being disabled in September 2022, attorneys said.
Officials with the FBI said the threats continued and intensified through 2024. Bababekov allegedly pulled the rider's name, address, and phone number and threatened to wait outside the rider's house.
Attorneys have requested an arrest warrant for Bababekov following the complaint.
